01What Archeum is

What Archeum is

Archeum Studios is a parent studio building custom software products, publishing research around the projects it creates, and forming focused companies for larger long-term fields.

The point is not to stay inside one niche. The point is to build serious software, preserve the research behind it, and give larger fields their own focused company identities when they need them.

02What we care about

What we care about

We care about useful software products, research records, mission-oriented tools, and company foundations that can hold long-term technical work.

A product should not need to be loud to be serious. It should be clear, controlled, inspectable, and built with enough taste that people actually want to use it.

03What comes first

What comes first

Our early public work starts with Obel CLI and Rook Guard.

Obel CLI captures software failures into replayable local capsules. The long-term direction is a local-first failure intelligence system: a self-hosted way to view, search, replay, explain, and fix failures without surprise billing or surprise uploads.

Rook Guard turns devices people already own into private camera nodes. The goal is simple security without new hardware, accounts, cloud cameras, subscriptions, or analytics.

04What this blog is for

What this blog is for

The Archeum Blog is for product updates, release notes, company notes, studio notes, and build writing. It will track what we ship, what changes, and what we learn while turning these ideas into real software.

Broader research, papers, and curiosity-led explorations will live in Archeum Research. Docs will stay focused on how Archeum products work.

05The standard

The standard

We want Archeum work to feel precise without feeling sterile. Useful without feeling disposable. Ambitious without pretending every experiment is already finished.

This is the first official note. The work starts here.
